    In 2008, Lems’ creator, Andrew Rademacher, reached his end point searching for shoes that fit the natural shape of the foot.   • Naot

    Originating in northern Israel in the late nineteen-eighties, Naot manufactures a large variety of footwear with a unique anatomical footpad. The footpad is a “negative” print of the foot, just like the footprint we leave when walking in the sand. Naot footwear is flexible, soft, shock absorbent, as it supports the heel and alleviates tiredness and pain. Footbeds are made of natural cork and latex and covered in a pampering layer of suede. The uppers are made of high quality Italian leathers.     Around the turn of the 20th century, a Minnesota shoe merchant named Charles Beckman saw a local necessity for shoes specifically designed for the demanding work of industries such as mining, logging and farming. The rigors of these jobs required footwear which was tough enough to outlast harsh working conditions. Beckman envisioned a shoe that was also comfortable enough for the hardworking people who wore them.
